I want to be totally honest here, there was a good 24 hour period where I worried this episode was a mistake. I kept thinking over and over: what if it happens again? I know Beth and I were both feeling it, the fear that online bullies thrive on. I knew this story was important, I knew that in telling it we were taking back power. I knew this community would give Beth something she needed: empathy, compassion, and an outpouring of love and support. Beth went through one of the most bizarre, and terrifying cancelations I’ve ever heard of. She was terrorized by a contingency of people who wanted to destroy her. Our listeners were both shocked and baffled by the circumstances. I’m not going to lie: I struggle with the lesson here. In Beth’s humility she speaks to it, but as a friend it angers me. No one should have to go through this. As a mother it also is such an awakening to what kids experience online, and the importance of protecting and educating them. Man oh man. The toxicity of cancel culture, the accessibility of bullies to be shrouded and hide on the internet. The way some sad souls will go out of their way to cause pain and misery. It’s all here. Give it a listen. So many of you wanted to support Beth after this episode: please visit her shop online littlelightco.com I’ll link to her candles directly below as well.
---Today I welcome my friend Beth of Little Light Co. Her journey of perseverance in the face of toxic cancel culture is an incredible story. Enjoy this listen!

Summer Replay | She Did Divorce

Thursday Jul 17, 2025

Thursday Jul 17, 2025

People still stop me to talk about this episode. My friend Ashley came on the podcast and gave us a candid, behind the curtain look into the process of divorce. From the moment she realized her marriage was over, to the present day, with the life she wanted to build. She discusses all of the nitty gritty. I love this episode because I know for a fact that all of my friends at some point in their marriages have wondered “what if.” Divorce is ugly, messy, sad, and so much more. If you have ever wondered, if you’re curious how you can support a friend in divorce, or this topic just is of interest this is a great listen. I want to add that this is the first of two episodes - we broke Ashley’s story into two parts. This is just part one, I encourage you to go listen to part two. I’ll link it here:

Divorce is something we have all dealt with in our lives whether it be self, parents, family or friends. In this episode, Brandy + Katie sit down with their friend Ashley as she shares her divorce journey with us, generously answering all our nitty gritty questions. There is nothing more relatable than being a hot mess. Especially in 2025 when life seems to run at an endless, marathon pace morning, noon, and night. I've heard a lot of women speak on “having it all” or being a superwoman, and the truth is it’s impossible. And exhausting. Some ball is going to get dropped. It’s knowing which ball is made of plastic, and which is made of porcelain that matters. Hence the hot mess: somewhere in life we all hold a little mess. For Hannah it’s her happy place. It’s taken time, work, and self compassion: she's happiest when she allows herself the mess. How beautiful is that?! This episode gives us permission to embrace the hot mess, to let the plastic ball drop. On a total side note, this episode’s sponsor is Three Dog Night rescue, I just adopted my hunk of meatball Petey dog, and cannot encourage you enough to go check them out at threedognightrescue.com Enjoy!

This episode resonated so heavily with you all. Breaking is one of the most relatable human experiences. Whether it’s your first love breaking your heart, a friendship falling apart. Hell, it could be a business failing, a partner leaving. A parent, friend, or pet passing away. There is one thing that’s certain in life: pain & hurt is the inevitable side car of humanity. The work isn’t the breaking, the breaking just happens. It’s how you heal the break that matters. The Japanese use the art of Kintsugi to repair breaks in pottery using a lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. The ideology is beautiful: an item can become more beautiful if we work to carefully and thoughtfully piece it back together, making those breaks become a stunning and unique feature of the object. Your breaks are part of your story. Big and small, the way we work to care for ourselves, to piece it all back together to create a more beautiful version of ourselves is what matters. So cheers to breaking, may we all become a stunning masterpiece.

Stephanie reached out a couple months after the She Did What?! episode titled Grief, where I speak to my Dad's sudden passing. She felt a calling to reconnect with her father, who she hadn't spoken to in 12 years. In today's episode, we talk through this journey of reaching out with curiosity. I'm so grateful for these vulnerable stories, and for women like Stephanie who come on to speak so candidly. These conversations are really important. Please reach out to either of us if you need support.

My friend Laura and I have always connected over our intense drive. We are both mothers of three, athletes, and women who founded businesses. So when we get to talking it's deep and meaningful. This week we decided to take one of our favorite topics to the podcast: competition. The ways that being competitive plays a role in our lives, and how we navigate being fiercely intense women. You don't need to be an athlete to get fired up by this one!

She Did Mom + Dad

Thursday Apr 10, 2025

Thursday Apr 10, 2025

Marriage can be...messy. This week you meet my husband, JJ, who also happens to be the first male co-host on this podcast! Originally we were going to talk about the journey of love and marriage. But things hadn't been going smoothly for us. So we scrapped the script and took this opportunity to use the microphone as our mediator as we worked towards resolving a conflict in our marriage. We use tactics from counseling we've had over the years to talk through our issues and find resolution.
